Maresa Logística, a company owned by Akana Capital and Somar Capital, has reached an agreement to acquire From-To, a family owned company based in Bilbao, specialized in groupage between Northern Spain and the Canary Islands.
This acquisition is part of Maresa Logística‘s strategy to accelerate its “Buy & Build” to create a large-scale operator, increase its market share and extend its high-value-added services to new customers and to more geographic areas.
In the last two years the company, which originated from the merger of Martín e Hijos and Marítimas Reunidas, has acquired General Courier (leader in Courier Peninsula-Canary Islands) and Puerta Directa (leader in inter-island transport in the Canary Islands).
From-To is a family-owned company founded in Bilbao in 1993 with 40 employees and a turnover of around 7 million euros. It is highly specialized in parcels and groupage of large and heavy goods and has its own logistics facilities in Bilbao, Barcelona, Valencia and the Canary Islands.
